艺术家简介


  Rebecca Warren生于1965年,作为一位女雕塑家,她以富有生命力的,粗粝的雕塑创作而著称,她常常使用的雕塑原料是粘土和青铜。


  Rebecca Warren的创作在挑战传统雕塑的同时也参照了雕塑史中的一些具有象征性的经典形象,另外,她作为一位女艺术家在男性为主导的社会环境之下的身份思考也在她的作品中有相应的体现。Rebecca的作品从难以归类的模糊形态到具体清晰都有,这些作品看起来正统和怪诞的风格兼备,有些作品看起来有很明显的性意味。


  Rebecca在谈论自己的作品时说:“虽然我的作品源自一种对以往创作的认识和参考,但我的作品不是说教,它更接近新的启示和不同的发现。”


  Rebecca Warren目前在伦敦工作和生活。她在2006年获得了特纳奖提名。英国媒体曾经评论她说:“Rebecca Warren的创作不是对过去的模仿和拼凑,她的作品才华横溢,并且具有原创性。”
