    You Tao attended the Sichun Fine Arts Academy where he majored in oil painting. After graduation, You Tao developed a unique style of abstract painting, which captured the imagination of the Beijing art community and led to collaborations with several foreign and Chinese artists. His multi-faceted works are very diverse, ranging from cutting-edge conceptual art to folk-style images.

    Recently, You Tao discovered the means of the computer to create modern collages combining his paintings and photographs of China’s capital Beijing in transition. The pictures feature the changes from tradition via socialism to modernism and alienated human figures trying to establish their place in this changing society. The slogan of his latest work is “See Beijing, see China”.
