艺术家简介


Salman Toor 1983年出生于巴基斯坦拉合尔,目前在美国纽约工作生活。他以创作小型具象绘画为人们熟知,擅长将专业技巧与速写风格相结合,以柔和的画面描绘现实题材,以此反衬出人与人之间的疏离感,反思日益严重的种族歧视问题。图尔的人物摆脱了外界的强加于人的生硬感,相比之下,他更为柔和的画面突出了传达怀旧或疏离感的被动时刻。从总体上看,图尔的画作考虑了当代公共和私人生活中的脆弱性,以及在古怪,流散的身份背景下的社区概念。反复出现的调色板和对艺术历史的引用增强了图尔绘画情感的影响力,并从他的生活经历中为他的叙述增添了梦幻般的元素。
